Sunsets….

Ok, so I’m in the car after an unsuccessful surf shoot at Swammi’s with a friend…..we are driving South on PCH and I turn to the right and see this beast…..this gorgeous, incredible, burning sunset.  What is it with sunsets that totally take me to another place?…..I just love them…..they call to me, just like the ocean. They make me imagine things….great things……

I got out quickly…..grabbed my gear and walked to “the” spot….thought about how to compose the image…..waited until it was almost completely dark.  I opened the tripod,  slid the camera on the mount and maneuvered the gear until I was confident…..thinking this has to be just right…it is too beautiful to mishandle.  Then I found it….the right setting….the right spot….the right emotion….the long exposure…..

I call this shot “Imagine”….
