Wow….what an amazing day of racing around this beautiful island and spending time with terrific people. I woke up at 3:30am and figured I should start taking pictures. My first subjects that I found to irritate were the Roosters! Apparently I was waking them up….then there were the “boonie” dogs….they were just as unpleased with me waking them up. Oh well….The spiders seemed to ignore me, although at 5 inches in diameter, I could not ignore them!
We were able to have Anne Stinnette (wife of Steve) guide us around the island….took almost 2,000 pictures my first day….what an amazing treasure trove of culture and beauty here on Guam….rich with history, pain, struggle and terrific people. Amazing what being on the anvil can do for you as a person and culture… Below are just a few of the shots, unedited, that briefly touch on a few images from the day. Enjoy!
Matthew 5:14-16
“You are the light of the world. A city set on a hill cannot be hidden. No one lights a lamp, and then puts it under a basket. Instead, a lamp is placed on a stand, where it gives light to everyone in the house. In the same way, let your good deeds shine out for all to see, so that everyone will praise your heavenly Father.”
