Saturday morning shoot at North Ponto…..going off, but they were more than willing to crush you…..
A good friend of mine that I respect told me to come back here and lay down some feelings on this post. So, here goes….
As I stood here looking at the waves crashing down on this overcast morning, I could not help but think about the power and even the loneliness of a single wave. The waves are always crashing down, but we rarely notice them unless we see someone on them like they actually own it. There has to be an analogy here……Maybe this is more about life in general…life sometimes seems so huge, so daunting when looking at it from one perspective.
I stood there on the beach with my long lens, thinking “good gracious…that thing would crush me”. Then you see these skilled athletes, that have figured it out. They have a different perspective…a skill. They look at it and think “whoa….I am going to conquer this!” They arent scared of it….they have a board….they are equipped to face this 100 ton wall of water. They can even ride it!
Isn’t it awesome that we get to deal with all of life’s challenges…..most being simple enough to conquer, if we are just equipped to deal with them. So, be good and go find your board….
Ok, that’s it for me. I’m off to “find my board”, so that I can conquer a few of my own waves…
